Infinite Love: the AI fragrance quiz that turned browsers into buyers

A catalog of 300+ scents was the problem, not the asset. Here is how a short quiz fixed it.

The problem

Infinitelove had no trouble getting people to the site. Getting them to buy was the hard part. 1.49% session conversion rate on paid channels and 1.74% on direct channels.

The catalog was part of the reason. When someone lands on a fragrance store with hundreds of options and no easy way to narrow them, choice turns into hesitation. That problem is sharper for a value-for-money catalog: a visitor cannot smell anything through a screen, cannot lean on one famous label to decide, and faces a long list of near-equivalent scents to compare. Most people in that position do not pick the wrong one. They pick nothing, and leave.

The solution

Instead of asking shoppers to filter their own way through hundreds of products, we built a short quiz that does the narrowing for them.

A shopper answers a few quick questions: the scents they already love, the occasion, the intensity they want. An OpenAI model reads those answers and returns a personalized match, then sends the shopper straight to that product page.

It looks simple, and that is the point. It turns an overwhelming catalog into a single confident recommendation, and it carries the shopper from curiosity to a specific product in one unbroken flow.

A flow that keeps four out of five people at its weakest point is doing something unusual. Most product funnels lose people at every click. This one keeps them moving because each step earns the next: the questions feel relevant, and the reward is a clear answer instead of another page of options to weigh.

Why it worked

Shoppers do not want more choice. They want the right choice, handed to them with enough reasoning to feel confident. The quiz gave Infinitelove a way to do that at scale, on every visit, without a salesperson in the room. The catalog stayed exactly as large. The decision got small.
